These statistics are the direct result, reflection, and proof of systemic racism that is not limited to healthcare only, hence widespread experiences of trauma and PTSD among Black Americans and the epigenetic influences in health outcomes that have resulted!

Having said that, we are sensitive to this because we have direct experience and insight & witness as Black Americans, as Black American women, as Black Americans working in healthcare, and as Black American healthcare professionals & experts. 

We wish that we could make it make sense, but it doesn't because racism doesn't!

Therefore, we understand our purpose, one of which is to ACTIVELY change the system and its corresponding results related to Black (African) American people so that we, too, can prayerfully one-day experience equity & equality across the board!
